Nothing hidden.
Nothing compromised.
We believe the materials inside a piece of furniture matter just as much as what you see from the outside. Here's exactly what goes into every Cloud Couch.
We choose for year ten, not day one.
Most furniture is designed to photograph well. We design for what happens after two years of real use — after movie nights, dinner parties, lazy Sunday mornings, and everything in between. Every material we use is chosen for how it performs over time, not just how it looks at first glance.
That means we work with a small number of carefully selected suppliers, many of them family-owned workshops with decades of expertise. We visit them. We test their materials. We don't change suppliers to save a few dollars — because consistency in materials is what makes consistency in quality possible.
Three fabrics. Each exceptional.
Every Cloud Couch fabric is tested for pilling resistance, colorfastness, and durability — exceeding industry standards before it ever reaches your home.
A dense, short-pile velvet with exceptional depth of color. Woven from long-staple cotton for a smooth hand feel and strong resistance to crushing. Our richest, most tactile option.
Stone-washed for an immediately relaxed, lived-in feel. Gets softer with every year of use. Naturally breathable and temperature-regulating — ideal for everyday comfort in any climate.
A textured loop-yarn weave with a warm, sculptural appearance. Engineered for high durability and resistance to pilling. Our most practical option — excellent for families and pet owners.
Why our cushions feel different.
The cushion construction is where most furniture brands cut corners. We didn't. Every seat and back cushion is built in three distinct layers, each chosen for a specific reason.
High-Density Foam Core — 2.0 lb/ft³
The structural foundation of each cushion. Dense enough to maintain its shape under years of regular use, yet responsive enough to feel supportive rather than rigid. We specify foam density well above the industry average.
Dacron Fiber Wrap
A polyester fiber wrap around the foam core that smooths the cushion's silhouette and adds a layer of softness without sacrificing support. Keeps the cushion looking full and plump even after extended use.
Hand-Wrapped Down Finish
The outer layer — a blend of feather and down — gives each cushion its signature cloud-like softness. Applied by hand to ensure consistent coverage and that unmistakable sink-in feel from the very first sit.
Built like furniture used to be.
The frame is the skeleton of any sofa — and the part most brands hide behind their upholstery. Ours is something we're proud of.
Every Cloud Couch frame is constructed from FSC-certified solid oak and kiln-dried hardwood. Kiln-drying removes excess moisture from the wood, preventing warping and cracking over time — a step that adds cost but makes an enormous difference to long-term structural integrity. Joints are reinforced with corner blocks and glued under pressure for a frame that doesn't flex, squeak, or shift.
The legs are turned from the same solid oak stock as the frame, finished with a matte natural oil that ages beautifully and can be refreshed at home with any standard wood conditioner.
