Care Guide

Care Guide

Care for your
Cloud Couch.

A little regular care goes a long way. Follow this guide to keep your sofa looking and feeling its best for years to come.

Simple habits, lasting results.

Regular upkeep prevents dust buildup and extends the life of your fabric significantly.

  • Vacuum once a week using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and debris.
  • Rotate and fluff cushions monthly to maintain their shape and ensure even wear.
  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight — UV rays can cause fabric to fade over time.
  • Keep the room well-ventilated to prevent moisture from building up in the fibers.
  • Keep sharp pet claws away from velvet upholstery.
Tip: keep your sofa at least 12 inches away from direct heat sources (radiators, fireplaces) to preserve the foam's elasticity and the fabric's integrity.

Caring for velvet.

Velvet is a refined fabric that rewards a little extra attention. With the right care, it maintains its luster and depth of color beautifully.

Do
  • Vacuum with the grain using a soft brush attachment
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean dry cloth
  • Gently brush with a velvet brush to restore the pile
  • Have cushion covers professionally dry cleaned
Don't
  • Rub stains — it damages the pile
  • Soak with water
  • Machine wash or steam clean
  • Leave in direct sunlight for extended periods
For light crush marks, hold a steamer a few inches away and gently brush — the pile will naturally recover.

Caring for linen.

Linen is naturally durable and develops a beautiful character over time. It's our most low-maintenance fabric option.

Do
  • Vacuum regularly to prevent dust buildup
  • Treat spills quickly with a damp cloth and mild soap
  • Air dry completely before use
  • Have covers professionally dry cleaned
Don't
  • Machine wash — fabric may shrink
  • Use bleach or chlorine-based products
  • Tumble dry
  • Iron on high heat

Caring for boucle.

Boucle is sturdy and pill-resistant — our most family- and pet-friendly fabric option. Easy to maintain with just a few simple habits.

Do
  • Vacuum with a suction-only attachment (no rotating brush)
  • Blot spills with cold water and a microfiber cloth
  • Use a lint roller for pet hair
  • Have covers professionally dry cleaned
Don't
  • Use stiff brushes — they can distort the loops
  • Machine wash
  • Apply harsh cleaning products
  • Scrub vigorously
If a loop snags, trim it carefully with scissors — never pull on it, as this can unravel the weave.

Act fast, act right.

Speed is everything. The sooner you treat a stain, the easier it is to remove completely.

  • Liquids (water, wine, coffee): blot immediately with a clean dry cloth — do not rub. Avoid adding extra water. Let air dry completely.
  • Grease and oils: sprinkle baking soda over the area, let it sit for 15 minutes, then vacuum gently. Finish with a lightly damp cloth.
  • Dried stains: gently scrape off any solid residue first. Then lightly dampen and blot with mild dish soap.
  • Stubborn stains: contact a professional upholstery cleaner. Avoid untested commercial sprays — some can permanently set the stain.
Always test any cleaning product on a hidden area (back of a cushion) before applying it to a visible surface.

Caring for the frame.

The solid oak frame of your Cloud Couch is built to last. A few simple precautions will keep it in perfect condition.

  • Check and tighten the module connectors once a year to keep the structure solid and secure.
  • Avoid placing the sofa in very humid rooms or near extreme temperature fluctuations.
  • Always lift — never drag — the sofa on hard floors to protect both the legs and your floors.
  • If the wood legs develop minor scratches, a natural wood conditioner can restore their appearance.
